Isaac meets Hannah

Many of you don’t know that I come from a rather large family, or at least my mother does. She actually has 4 sisters who have now spread out a little bit but who all use to live in Ohio at one point. Each of these sisters has several children as well. For as long as I can remember we have all been getting together for holidays and family events. From the time I was 2 until I was 18 we also got together every July for a vacation in Sandusky, Ohio and a grand trip to Cedar Point (the greatest place on earth)!

At any rate, these many family events have created strong bonds and relationships for me with my cousins. When we were younger we used these gatherings to con our parents into letting us stay over at one an others house. As we have gotten older we have taken to shopping together and other fun activities. Most recently several of us decided to have babies at the same time! (This, of course, wasn’t very helpful for the family wallets, but it was fun for us).

One of the cousins, Amanda, is now living in Colorado which has put her out of the loop for the family tummy pictures and shower extravaganzas. However, she and her new daughter Hannah (born a couple weeks before Isaac) and her older daughter Abigail were in town for a visit this past week. The whole family was invited to hang out with them for the afternoon which was great for introducing Isaac and Hannah.

It is so funny how babies can be virtually the same age and so very different! It was so much fun seeing them together, taking pictures, sharing stories. I really do wish they still lived here in Ohio! What a blessing they are!

Here are a few pictures from the introduction of Hannah and Isaac. (If you click on the pictures there is a scroll button and you can see the captions I have included). Darin, if you are reading this you may not want to look at the pictures. :) She’s just so cute and Isaac just couldn’t resist!

I had no idea you and Amanda were cousins! You guys actually look a bit alike and I had been wondering for awhile who you reminded me of. Well, now I know–Amanda! What a small world!

Actually, one of my relatives recently said “Wow! I never realized how much you and Amanda look alike before now.” Kind of funny. Yes, it is a small world. She was the reason I started going to Apex.
