Tessa – 2 Months!

Oh, I feel bad for this little girl (and Isaac after 4 months old) because once I started Once A Month Mom I can’t seem to find time to post about them on this blog. So sad.

At any rate, Tessa turned 2 months old on February 15th! She is really starting to come into her personality and we are getting a taste of the sweetness that is yet to come. I got to take her away for a weekend (I went to a blogging conference), just her and I. It was so good to spend time bonding with just her.

Prior to the conference I would have said she was a fussy baby. I no longer think that. First of all, she is fussier when she is around her brother. Apparently, he is not the only one fighting for our attention. Second, I think that she just needed to really bond with me. I realized when we got to the conference that I hadn’t really “let” myself love on her, bond with her and just cuddle with her. I was constantly worried about Isaac watching.

After I realized what was happening I decided that wasn’t healthy for any of us. So we spent some great cuddle time at the conference. I wore her the whole weekend which was a new thing for me and a lot of fun. And when we returned things have been MUCH better. She is so incredibly sweet and in many ways, easier than Isaac. Can that be possible?

She also seems to be trying to catch up to her brother in growth. At her doctor’s appointment today she weighed in at a hefty 12 lbs (last visit she was 7lbs 13 ounces). When the nurse went to measure her head and her length she did a double-take and actually redid both measurements to see if she had done them correctly. She had! Her head had grown an inch and three fourths in a month and a half and she had gained 3 inches in length!

These measurements put her in 75% for weight, 75% for height and 90% for height. These are higher percentages than Isaac ever had!My children are going to tower over me it seems.

I am happy that she is happy and healthy. I love that she has started to really engage with us and to talk to us when she is awake. She is just such a joy.
