The first family vacation: Panama City Beach & Nashville

Goodness, it has been nearly a month since we returned and I am just now writing about our first vacation. Probably because I am still recovering (laundry/cleaning). It was a lot of fun. This is the first picture I took of Isaac once we got to Florida and it is one of my all-time favorites.

I was a little reluctant about driving all the way to Florida with an 8 month old but we had friends that were going to be down there that we could meet up with a share a house. It was AWESOME! The house was literally on the beach. Ben and I could put Isaac down for a nap and still be able to hear him in the baby monitor as we lounged/played by the water.

We stayed in Panama City Beach for a week. Ben was excited because Thunder Beach was going on while we were down there – a HUGE motorcycle rally (picture 40,000 motorcycles in one city). It was a bit crazy at times.

We took a great boat ride where we got to feed the birds Cheetos right from our hands. We laid on the beach. Ben went golfing and rented a surf board for the week. And Isaac got familiar with the ocean. He didn’t really like the sand or the water at first but his dad (being the amazing man that he is) worked and played with him until he was perfectly at home.

On our way home we stopped in Nashville (neither of us had ever been there) to break up the 14 hour trip. It was lots of fun and I have a cousin who lives there so we visited with her and her family as well. We also were able to see some friends who had moved there about a year ago.
