Tia Time!
Last weekend we had Tia over for a visit. It’s a long story of how we know Tia and have come to love spending time with her. Just know that she is a teenager with all that that entails! I, of course, was in heaven all weekend trying to figure out how to help her become the wonderful young lady I know she can be!
We tried out the Garlic Festival at Cox Arboretum on Saturday before heading to church at
Apex. I can’t say I was too impressed. There really wasn’t that much happening. We did take some fabulous pictures of ourselves as garlic – I obviously had to force the 14 year old to be in this picture – she obliged to make me happy.
We took a hayride there too while Isaac and Ben hung out. Can’t say that was much to write about either.
Usually Cox is so very pretty but everything was pretty much dead. And not dead from fall dead but dead like we have had no rain dead. . .but it was a fun little ride.
Sunday afternoon was designated as Tia’s first cooking lesson at the Callahan house. Of course, she had to be all dramatic about it and again hated me for shooting pictures but I was really proud. Proud of her doing such a good job cooking dinner and proud of myself for actually not stepping in and doing it for her. She made Johnny Marzetti, a salad and dinner rolls – it was EXCELLENT! Take a look for yourself – isn’t your mouth watering?
